There Is So Much Joy In Helping Others Find Happiness In Their Own Lives
I’m so grateful that so many people have shared their stories with me over the years... their own pursuit of love, happiness and success.
I love talking and listening to people, young and old. Everyone has a story. Everyone has a different view of the world. I’ve often been pleasantly surprised to get insights from kids as young as two years old. But, then again… maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised. What’s great about listening to kids is that they don’t limit the way they think. Unlike most grown ups who tend to be concerned about not saying the “wrong” things, kids just think what they think and say what they think without worrying much about anything else. How refreshing! Kids are often so aware of what makes them happy — grown-ups can learn so much from them.
I love talking to seniors. Their ideas and tips about dealing with challenges in their lives as well as their triumphs — their own pursuit of love, happiness and success — have given me so many insights that I could apply in my own life. I love sharing these heartwarming stories with family and friends. I’m hoping that by sharing some of these stories with you, they can also make a difference in your life.
I’m thankful that I had the courage to make some changes in my career several years ago. I used to be a Director of Nursing in a hospital. I gave up that position — because I wasn’t happy — and went to graduate school. After earning my Master’s degree, I started working directly with patients in the community and making house calls.
I have experienced so much happiness and joy working with patients. I’m thankful that I have so many opportunities to make a difference in someone’s life. I’m grateful for the chance to feed my soul on a day-to-day basis. Some days are tough, but the appreciation I get and the chance to help others have given me so much spiritual happiness.
I’ve learned so much about life from so many people — my teachers and professors as well as students, bosses as well as employees, my family and friends and other loved ones, my colleagues and of course, my patients. I am forever grateful for the difference they’ve made in my life. It would be impossible for me to repay everyone’s kindness. Instead of trying to do so, I’m going to share the lessons I’ve learned from them… and hopefully, pass their kindness along to you and other people.
If you have some ideas and insights about finding happinesss, I hope you will share them with us. Your comments and articles can help other people find more happiness — you can make a difference in their lives.
To your happiness...
Allie
